Online Worship will be available on three platforms

Hello Members and Friends of First Presbyterian Church of Big Flats, NY,

I hope this message finds you managing our social distancing well during this time of virus.

For at least the next two Sundays, we will be meeting for Worship via Online Platforms. We have been streaming our service live on Facebook for some time and will continue to stream our Worship this way.

We are going to add two new ways starting this week.

First: We can all participate in a more interactive worship starting this week with Zoom Meetings.

I really hope to see you all on Zoom this Sunday.

The information on how to join the meeting is listed below.
Most important is to click on the “Join Zoom Meeting” URL https://zoom.us/j/705292707 to join the meeting at 10:30 a.m.

You can join click to share your webcam so that we can all facetime with each other. You can also decide if you want to use your Computer’s Audio or if you want to join the audio by phone (the phone numbers are listed below).

All that information will be available to you when you join the meeting – and may make more sense when you join the meeting.

I do suggest you log on about 5 minutes early if you’ve never used Zoom before to get a chance to become comfortable with the platform.

Denise Stone is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

COVID-19 Response Announcement

Dear Family and Friends of First Presbyterian Church of Big Flats,

The coronavirus pandemic and how to respond to it in a way that protects the health and safety of our most vulnerable family and friends have been very much on all of our minds. Following this morning’s Worship Service, the Officers of The Church (Session, Deacons and members of the Worship Committee)decided to suspend gathering for Worship on Sundays, and all other in-person meetings of Church committees for the remainder of the month of March.

This is a decision we make with regret, but we believe it is the decision our Lord would have us make out of an abundance of love and care for you all. This decision is also consistent with guidance received from medical professionals and our Presbytery of Geneva, as well as with what other churches have chosen to do locally and nationwide. Each week we will update the congregation as to our plans and any changes. Please check the church Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/First-Presbyterian-Church-of-Big-Flats-New-York-155280817870120), our website (http://www.bigflatsfirstpres.org/) and your email for these updates.

An online worship service will be provided each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. on our Facebook page (and probably on YouTube, look for more information to come). We encourage everyone who can to watch it live on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. or watch the recording later. If you have any questions or would like some guidance on how to watch the service, please send an email to pastorbfpres@empireaccess.netor call and leave a message on the church answering machine for a call back.

As we continue on this Lenten journey unlike any other, please remember to check on neighbors, friends, and church members. Communication, support, and reassurance are what is most important. Remember that just because we are not gathering for Sunday worship does not mean we cannot call one another, support one another, and pray for one another. God grant that this crisis will pass quickly, and we will all be gathering together in-person soon. God bless you all.

Grace and Peace,
Pastor Denise
